Dear Friends, Donors, and Supporters of Tam Ky Project, Thank you so much for your unwavering support and generosity toward the Tam Ky Project over the past ten years.

Thanks to your kindness, countless lives have been improved in the rural areas of Vietnam. In 2023, we raised a total of $223,531, comprising $144,605 in cash donations and an additional $78,926 in Gift-In-Kind Value for 20 tons of Manna Fortified rice packets.

In 2023, we celebrated several significant achievements:

Poverty Relief:

  • Provided 20 tons of rice packets enriched with essential vitamins, valued at $78,926, to over 2,000 children in 10 elementary schools within the Quang Nam area. The nutritious rice packets were shipped from the port of Long Beach, CA, to the port of Da Nang, Vietnam. These nutritious meals are making a significant impact on the brain development of these children, who rarely have access to such food.
  • Provided vital support to over 1,000 underprivileged families during Lunar New Year and throughout the year by distributing essential food items valued at $16,197.
  • Provided nutritious meals to orphanages, senior centers ($7,000), poor cancer patients in hospitals, and individuals in dire circumstances.

Clean Water Initiative:

  • Improved the lives of thousands of villagers in the highlands of Vietnam by installing seven fresh water wells and one large filtering system in the highlands of Kontum, Quang Ngai, and Quang Nam. These areas suffer from a severe shortage of clean water, leading to waterborne diseases and hindering children’s growth and education. By providing these communities with a reliable source of clean water, we have significantly improved the health and well-being of both children and adults. Total cost: $15,380.

Healthcare Support:

  • Provided free cataract surgeries for elderly individuals, restoring eyesight and enhancing their quality of life. In 2023, we brought the gift of sight to 371 seniors in the Quang Nam area. Total cost: $13,000.
  • Transformed lives by donating 295 wheelchairs to individuals with disabilities, promoting mobility in rural areas of central Vietnam. Total cost: $15,000.

Education and Infrastructure:

  • Built schools and bridges in rural areas to enable children to access quality education and ensure their safety during commutes. Education is a fundamental right, and we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive. Over the last six years, we have built seven schools and ten bridges. In 2023, we built one school for students in Thon 2, Xa Tra Vinh, Nam Tra My. Total cost: $25,000.
  • Provided monthly scholarships to 15 orphans facing financial challenges, enabling them to pursue education and break the cycle of poverty in the central region of Vietnam. Total cost: $5,400.
  • Eased the daily commute of students in need by gifting 24 new bicycles in Quang Nam, amounting to $1,400.
  • Ensured the warmth and comfort of approximately 2,500 students in the highlands of  Quang Nam, Quang Ngai & Kontum during harsh winter months by providing warm jackets, totaling $14,471.

Local Projects 2023:

  • Fundraised $6,000 for Maui fire victims in October.

Thanks to your generosity, countless lives have been improved in the rural areas of Vietnam. In 2022, we raised a total of $193,149 comprising $127,831 in cash donations and an additional ~$65,318 in Gift-In-Kind Value for 20 tons of Manna Fortified rice packets.

In 2022, we celebrated significant achievements:

  • Empowered 2,000 children in 7 schools within Nam Giang, Quang Nam, with 20 tons of rice packets enriched with essential vitamins, valued at $65,318. The nutritious rice packets were exported from the port of Long Beach, CA to port of Da Nang, Vietnam.
  • Improved the lives of 1,000 villagers in Kon Tum,, Dakrong (Quang Tri), and Eatrol (Phu Yen) by installing three water filtering systems, providing clean water at a cost of $9,400.
  • Brought the gift of sight to 150 seniors through sponsored cataract surgeries, with the cost of $7,000.
  • Ensured the warmth and comfort of approximately 4,000 students in Quang Nam’s highlands during harsh winter months with the provision of warm jackets, totaling $16,837.
  • Provided vital support to 1,000 underprivileged families during Lunar New Year, distributing essential food items valued at $11,000.
  • Supported 15 deserving children with monthly scholarships, empowering them to pursue education with a contribution of $5,400.
  • Transformed lives by donating 316 wheelchairs to individuals with disabilities, promoting mobility, at a cost of $18,960.
  • Eased the daily commute of students in need by gifting 100 new bicycles, amounting to $6,000.
  • Spread joy and kindness by sending 200 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts to children in need worldwide, valued at $2,150.
  • Continued our regular initiatives, including providing meals to orphanages, rehab centers, and hospitals, as well as assisting individuals in dire circumstances, with a total contribution of $5,000.

Dear friends/donors/supporters/volunteers of Tam Kỳ Project, Thank you so much for donating & supporting Tam Kỳ Project (TKP) in the past eight (8) years.

Your generous donation have helped to improve the quality of life for so many adults and kids in Viet Nam. We had raised over $200,000 in 2021 including $166,000 in cash and ~$50,000 gift-in-kind value for the 20 tons of Manna rice packets.

Here are a few highlights of our projects in 2021:

1. Distributed 20 tons of rice packets with needed vitamins to 2,000 kids in Nam Tra My, Quang Nam. Gift-in-Kind value $50,000.
2. Covid-Relief effort in Vietnam in 2021. Vietnam was experiencing its largest outbreak ever with over 1.2 million infections and 40,000 deaths. Vietnam had built over 30 field hospitals with 1,500 ICU beds and 30,000 non-ICU beds. When total cases reached several thousand per day, the government locked down Saigon and surrounding areas and Hanoi and started imposing a daily 6:00 pm curfew, no one could leave the city, and only emergency services were permitted to operate. The government also moved 10,000 troops into the city to enforce the lockdown and deliver food. But with a population of 9 million people, it wasn’t an easy task. There were hundred thousand of people who didn’t have food to eat. We were able to help with a couple of projects below:
  • Distributed food and necessities to over 4,000 people ($48,000)
  • Distributed over 15,000 N95 masks to field hospitals in need in Saigon and surrounding areas. The hospitals were desperate for these masks as there was a huge shortage of masks during this critical time. Gift-in-kind value $15,000
3. Provided Water filtering systems to 10 schools & villages in the highlands of Quang Nam & Quang Tri ($18,000). People in these rural mountain areas are often struggling to get water each day. They had to hike on a rough mountain road (an average of 30 minutes one way) to bring water home in small bottles and the water is highly polluted. We were able to build water wells with a filtering system so they could have clean water right in their village. The villagers and students are very excited and very thankful because this is a dream come true for them. Clean water will also help to prevent many deadly diseases that have been a huge problem for them.
4. Provided free cataract surgeries to 250 seniors in need who otherwise, would not have been able to afford this surgery. We sponsor the surgery fees, hospital staying fees for 3 days including 3 meals a day, and transportation fees from their rural town to the hospital in the city. They were very thankful to be able to see the world and their families again. The patients & their families will be forever thankful for this miracle ($12,113).
5. Provided warm jackets for 7,957 students in the highlands. The winter months are a harsh struggle for the people in the rural highlands of Vietnam, especially for young kids. The weather can be relentless and dangerous. These children suffer through the cold winters normally. They were so excited to be able to keep warm this past winter. ($16,500)
6. Food distribution for poverty relief. TKP volunteers visited 15 different provinces around Quang Nam and distributed food (rice, cooking oil, fish sauce, and broth mix) to 1,500 families who live below the poverty line including many who have terminal diseases. ($19,905)
7. Monetary gifts/red envelopes ($5,136) were distributed to over 500 cancer patients at Quang Nam hospital.
8. Provided monthly scholarships to orphans or children with special circumstances for $25-$30 a month so they can continue their education. We were able to sponsor 13 kids in need. ($4,722).
9. Provided 100 new wheelchairs to people with disabilities. Most of them do not have the ability to get around on their own and some had to drag themselves on dirt floors to get around the house. With the new mobility, they will not only be able to get around their own homes more easily, but they will be able to visit friends, and neighbors and rejoin the community. The wheelchairs donation is a life-changing event for the whole family. They are so touched and very thankful for this meaningful gift. ($5,225)
10. Provided 75 new bicycles for students in need. ($4,292)
11. Building a school in 2021 that was completed in early 2022. ($15,000 with the remaining $10,000 left to pay for the school construction in 2022)
12. Provided 200 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for children in need around the world. ($3,000)
On a regular basis, we visit and cook hot meals for local orphanages, a rehab center for children with disabilities, senior centers, and local hospitals.
We also help many individual cases involving sudden accidents/deaths, sickness, people in the trauma centers who can’t afford to have surgeries, etc. We help the elderly or disabled people who live alone and have no family to help, orphans/kids with special circumstances, and many similar cases. ($5,000)

The Gift of Sight program provides free cataract surgery to patients who lack insurance and are legally blind due to cataracts. Tam Ky Project has been giving the gift of sights to thousands of people in the last five years. The patients are generous older and live below poverty line  in rural highlands areas of Vietnam and will never be able to afford the surgery. With only $50, we can help each of these seniors to see their families and the world again! This includes surgery fees, prescription for post-surgery, transportation fees (pick up & drop off which is typically couple hrs drive), food & drinks for 3 days at the hospital.

In the most recent mission in 2019 (pre-pandemic), we had a total of about 1000 patients came for screening and only 375 patients were qualified to do the surgeries. They were blind from cataracts and other diseases. Some were only able to see light  or darkness and now, they got their vision back 20/20. Some said they had been listening to the voices of their kids & new grandkids and imagining what the grandkids might look like but now they are so overwhelmed with emotion that they can see what their  grandkids actually look like. It is a dream come true for them all.

These seniors  were so excited and very thankful to have their vision back.

Needless to say, this is a very meaningful project that Tam Ky Project is very passionate about helping each year. We are hoping to bring sight back for at least 100 or more  seniors each year for only $50 per patient.

The winter months are a harsh struggle for  the people in the rural highlands of Vietnam especially for young kids. The weather can be relentless and dangerous.

Many children suffer through the cold winters, so each year, we fundraise to supply warm jackets for kids to help keep them warm during the harsh winter months in rural areas of Vietnam including Nam Tra My, Bac Tra My, Tra Xinh (Quang Ngai), Gia Lai – Kon Tum. Most of them are minority ethnic groups and live below poverty line so they can’t afford warm clothes.

We’ve been provided 2000+ jackets on an average to kids each winter. We’ve bringing warmth to over 10,000 kids to date (2021).

Clean Water - Tra Nam

The water filtration system project in Tra Nam, Nam Tra My is in full use for over 1000 people. It provides clean water for two schools and nearby villages.
Thank you Dr Phong Vuong & his dad Diem Vuong (who is an engineer) and he has helped designing this system and bringing all the parts from the U.S. and built it in Viet Nam with his team. The students, teachers, parents and nearby villagers are very thankful for the clean water as they don’t have to walk the miles each day to get the filthy water from the creek for their daily use.
They love this new water system and said water never tasted so good!!! The clean water will also help to keep away so many deadly diseases!
Special thanks to Dr Phong’s mom, Mai Vuong, for her effort in raising a big portion of funds for this project!

Clean Water - Nam Tra My

Thank you so much to Lori Nguyen & Mike Thompson, Chairman of Excelerate Capital for sponsoring this meaningful water project below. They’ve donated $5,000 to Tam Ky Project to bring clean water to a rural village in the  mountain region of Cheng Tong, Nam Tra My, Vietnam. There are about 500 people live here and they’re part of the minority ethnic group called Sedang.

Previously, their source of water came from a river that is over a mile away and water were very polluted and drying up during the summer. You can see in some pictures below that kids had to collect water on a daily basis with these small containers.

The villagers were suffering from dehydration and diseases from lack of clean water. It was  a desperate situation here a month ago. They’ve already tried to dig 4 different water wells but still couldn’t find any water source. They’ve almost given up and wanted to move to a new area but it is not easy to move the whole village.

We were able to hire contractors to build a sophisticated  water system with over a mile  long of pipes being laid down to bring clean water across the river to this village. They also built two (2) large water containers with gravity taps.

The villagers are overjoyed and celebrating that they now not only have clean water to drink but they can also cook and clean. It is a dream come true for them!

In addition to this water project, Excelerate Capital has also donated farming tools to each of the 44 families which includes shovels, machete, hand sickle, axe, hoe and wheelbarrow.

Here are a few highlights of our projects in 2020:

 

PROJECTS in Vietnam:

 

1. Construction projects: ($6,000)
– Built 2 water wells to bring clean water for over 400 kids in the highland of Quang Ngai & Built a porch cover for a school in Tra Xinh.
– Funded 2 water filtration system for over 500 kids in the highlands so they can have clean water to drink and eat.
– Built a kitchen for a school in Tra Thanh. This is a rural school in the mountain and they used to have to cook outside and had to set up a tent to cook when it rained so they are very thankful to have a real kitchen to cook meals for kids. Kids live at school all week so teachers have to cook three meals a day for them.

 

2. Free eyes surgeries to bring sight back for over 500 people in the mountain area of Quang Nam. ($12,000). These people live in poverty and would never be able to afford the surgery if not for us sponsoring them. We sponsor the surgery fees, hospital staying fees including 3 meals a day and transportation fees from their rural town to the hospital in the city. They’re very thankful to be able to see the faces of their loved ones again.

 

3. Food distribution in light of Lunar New Year ($9,200). TKP volunteers visited 10 different provinces around Quang Nam and distributed food (rice, cooking oil, fish sauce and broth mix) to over 1,000 families who live below poverty line including many have terminal diseases. We also distributed to 500 families in the South of Vietnam.

 

4. Monetary gift/red envelopes ($6,154) were distributed to over 1,000 cancer patients at Quang Nam hospital during Lunar New Year.

 

5. Food Distribution for Covid Relief effort (3 rounds of virus resurgence) ($12,000). We were able to distribute food & necessities to over 1,000 families in Quang Nam area.

 

6. Flood Relief Effort in October 2020 ($63,000). TKP volunteers have visited and distributed food and necessities to over 3,000 families from different provinces in central of Vietnam. Most of these people had lost everything during the flood and were submerged in water for over 10 days without food and drinks.

 

7. Warm jackets project ($6,000). Provided warm jackets to over 2000 kids in the highlands of Quang Ngai & Kon Tum.

 

8. Provided monthly scholarship to orphans or children with special circumstances for $25-$30 a month so they can continue their education. We were able to sponsor 10 orphans in 2020 (Total cost $3,100).

PROJECTS IN THE U.S.A.

 

Masks Project: $6,966
Tam Ky Project has donated over 30,000 masks including 5,000 of surgical masks and over 25,000 of fabric masks to over 100 organizations including 62 hospitals, over 30 nursing homes (not all listed) , various groceries stores, police departments, homeless shelter and local temples. We’ve also shipped masks to several hospitals in Texas, Idaho, Colorado and 15 hospitals in New York & New Jersey and remaining are for all hospitals crossed California.
We also donated 1500 faceshields, 3535 bottles of sanitizers to local hospitals. And 15,000 gloves to hospitals and nursing homes.

 

Meals to Hospitals: $2,631
Provided 500 meals to frontline workers at local hospitals in Orange County during Covid-19 breakout.
Homeless project: $3,469
Donated 1600 emergency meal kits, 2000 gloves, waters, 10 gallons of rubbing alcohol to The Courtyard Transitional Center in Santa Ana and Anaheim Emergency Motel Shelter for people with Covid 19 symtoms.
On Easter, donated pizzas, water bottles, chips, banana, protein bars to 250 homeless kids and adults and the Link in Santa Ana & the Bridge in Anaheim Shelter. $10 Mcdonald gift cards & Easter treats bags to 21 kids there.
Donated 200lbs of ham to Mary’s kitchen for the homeless

 

Village of Hope: $2000
Donated diapers, formulas, female hygiene to Orange Rescue Mission/Village of Hope for babies, kids and women who came from abused homes.

 

Seniors Project: $1,345
To provide a month of fresh produce and dried/canned food to 50 seniors who live alone with financial difficulties in Orange County.

 

Scarves/blankets/Clothes : (over $10,000 in value)
We’ve donated over 2,000 scarves/blankets/clothes to 10 different centers including local senior centers/shelters/Village of Hope.

Dear friends/donors/supporters of Tam Ky Project, Thank you so much for donating & supporting Tam Kỳ Project (TKP) in the past seven (7) years.

Your generous donation have helped to improve the quality of life for so many adults and kids in Viet Nam. We had raised $164,000 in 2020 and had executed so many meaningful projects . You can follow our FB Page and see the updates on all projects as they happen.

Here are a few highlights of our projects in 2020:

PROJECTS in Vietnam:

 

1. Construction projects: ($6,000)
– Built 2 water wells to bring clean water for over 400 kids in the highland of Quang Ngai & Built a porch cover for a school in Tra Xinh.
– Funded 2 water filtration system for over 500 kids in the highlands so they can have clean water to drink and eat.
– Built a kitchen for a school in Tra Thanh. This is a rural school in the mountain and they used to have to cook outside and had to set up a tent to cook when it rained so they are very thankful to have a real kitchen to cook meals for kids. Kids live at school all week so teachers have to cook three meals a day for them.

 

2. Free eyes surgeries to bring sight back for over 500 people in the mountain area of Quang Nam. ($12,000). These people live in poverty and would never be able to afford the surgery if not for us sponsoring them. We sponsor the surgery fees, hospital staying fees including 3 meals a day and transportation fees from their rural town to the hospital in the city. They’re very thankful to be able to see the faces of their loved ones again.

 

3. Food distribution in light of Lunar New Year ($9,200). TKP volunteers visited 10 different provinces around Quang Nam and distributed food (rice, cooking oil, fish sauce and broth mix) to over 1,000 families who live below poverty line including many have terminal diseases. We also distributed to 500 families in the South of Vietnam.

 

4. Monetary gift/red envelopes ($6,154) were distributed to over 1,000 cancer patients at Quang Nam hospital during Lunar New Year.

 

5. Food Distribution for Covid Relief effort (3 rounds of virus resurgence) ($12,000). We were able to distribute food & necessities to over 1,000 families in Quang Nam area.

 

6. Flood Relief Effort in October 2020 ($63,000). TKP volunteers have visited and distributed food and necessities to over 3,000 families from different provinces in central of Vietnam. Most of these people had lost everything during the flood and were submerged in water for over 10 days without food and drinks.

 

7. Warm jackets project ($6,000). Provided warm jackets to over 2000 kids in the highlands of Quang Ngai & Kon Tum.

 

8. Provided monthly scholarship to orphans or children with special circumstances for $25-$30 a month so they can continue their education. We were able to sponsor 10 orphans in 2020 (Total cost $3,100).

 

9. On a regular basis, we visit and cook a hot meal for local orphanages, rehab center for children with disabilities, a senior center, and local hospitals. ($3,000)

 

10. We also help many individual cases involving sudden accidents/deaths, sickness, people in trauma center and can’t afford to have surgeries, etc. We help the elderly or disabled people who live alone and have no family to help , orphans/kids with special circumstances, and many similar cases.

 

PROJECTS IN THE U.S.A.

 

Masks Project: $6,966
Tam Ky Project has donated over 30,000 masks including 5,000 of surgical masks and over 25,000 of fabric masks to over 100 organizations including 62 hospitals, over 30 nursing homes (not all listed) , various groceries stores, police departments, homeless shelter and local temples. We’ve also shipped masks to several hospitals in Texas, Idaho, Colorado and 15 hospitals in New York & New Jersey and remaining are for all hospitals crossed California.
We also donated 1500 faceshields, 3535 bottles of sanitizers to local hospitals. And 15,000 gloves to hospitals and nursing homes.

 

Meals to Hospitals: $2,631
Provided 500 meals to frontline workers at local hospitals in Orange County during Covid-19 breakout.
Homeless project: $3,469
Donated 1600 emergency meal kits, 2000 gloves, waters, 10 gallons of rubbing alcohol to The Courtyard Transitional Center in Santa Ana and Anaheim Emergency Motel Shelter for people with Covid 19 symtoms.
On Easter, donated pizzas, water bottles, chips, banana, protein bars to 250 homeless kids and adults and the Link in Santa Ana & the Bridge in Anaheim Shelter. $10 Mcdonald gift cards & Easter treats bags to 21 kids there.
Donated 200lbs of ham to Mary’s kitchen for the homeless

 

Village of Hope: $2000
Donated diapers, formulas, female hygiene to Orange Rescue Mission/Village of Hope for babies, kids and women who came from abused homes.

 

Seniors Project: $1,345
To provide a month of fresh produce and dried/canned food to 50 seniors who live alone with financial difficulties in Orange County.

 

Scarves/blankets/Clothes : (over $10,000 in value)
We’ve donated over 2,000 scarves/blankets/clothes to 10 different centers including local senior centers/shelters/Village of Hope.

Dear friends/donors/supporters of Tam Ky Project, Thank you so much for donating & supporting Tam Kỳ Project (TKP) in the past five (6) years.

Your generous donation have helped us to accomplish so many meaningful projects/missions in Viet Nam. We had raised over $150,000 in 2019 and had done so many projects on a regular basis so we cannot list all projects here. You can follow our FB Page and see the updates on all projects as they happen.

Here are a few highlights of our projects in 2019

1. Anh Đức, chị Thanhthu Nguyen & her family had donated $16,500 for their mission to Viet Nam in January 2019. They traveled with TKP volunteers to visit a bridge that they had funded in Tra Leng ($7,000) Without this bridge, the kids have to walk for 6 hrs to get to school during the winter. The bridge will keep them safe and cut their trip short for several hours. With the remaining $10,544, TKP volunteers helped to purchase rice, cooking oil, fish sauce and many necessities and distributed alongside with anh chi, to over 1,000 poor people in Tam Ky, Tra Leng, Da Nang, Da Lat & Ninh Thuan.

 

2. Natalie Ton & her family had donated $3,100 in 2019 including $2,100 to provide food & necessities to 160 people who were affected by the flood disaster and $1,000 to provide free eye surgeries to 25 patients who can’t afford surgeries.

 

3. Hope For Tomorrow Loc X. Nguyen donated a total of $33,766 in May 2019 to build two (2) Kindergarten schools. The first one was built in the highland of Tra Cang, Nam Tra My. The second one was built in the highland of Tay Tra, Quang Ngai. The old schools were more like sheds and these young kids were suffering either from the brutal heat in the hot months or the extreme cold & wet during raining season. The kids, parents & teachers are so thankful for these new schools.

 

4. Tongueout Dr Iggy Igette had collaborated with TKP to build a water filtration system and brought clean water to over 1000 kids & their families in the highlands of Tra Nam, Nam Tra My in July 2019. The Project costs $15,000. Thank you Dr Phong Vuong & his dad Diem Vuong who is an engineer and he helped designing this system and brought all the parts from the U.S. and built it in Viet Nam with his team. These families don’t have to struggle bringing home water from the far away creeks and the clean water will also help to keep away many diseases.
UC Irvine students went on a medical mission trip with TongueOut & they raised $2,000 to build a Water Well in Tra Nham, Viet Nam. The new Water Well provides clean drinking water to 304 elementary school students and 200 villagers.
Tongueout also donated another $2,500 to buy presents for 304 kids here.

 

5. Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation had donated 20 tons (40,000 lbs) of MannaPack Rice which costs about $40,000. The rice packets come with all the needed vitamins to help kids fighting malnutrition. The rice packets were shipped from Port of Long Beach to Port of Da Nang, VN in June 2019. TKP volunteers drove for 7 hours to deliver the rice to over 2000 kids in the highlands of Nam Tra My, Viet Nam. Thank you to As Ly & Linh Lam for connecting us.

 

6. Elegant Nails LLC in Santa Fe Place Mall Lac Lam had donated a total of $5,100 to the poor patients at the local hospital in Tam Ky, Quang Nam. TKP volunteers helped to distribute the money and cooked warm meals for over 500 cancer patients.

 

7. In light of Vietnamese New Year, TKP volunteers visited 10 different provinces around Quang Nam and distributed food (rice, cooking oil, fish sauce and broth mix) to over 300 families who live below poverty line including many have terminal diseases. Total cost ~$4,000.

 

8. Amy Nitao had donated $6,000 to provide 2500 warm jackets to kids in need in Kontum, Viet Nam. These kids live in the mountain area and barely clothed so the winter is really brutal for them. They are so thankful for these jackets.
Nitao family has also donated an English Mobile Library.

 

9. PinkStrawsDenise Pham had donated $4,700 in 2019 for several projects. They funded $2,000 for the Mid-Autumn festival event to bring the festivities to 420 kids in Binh Sa,Thang Binh, Quang Nam. TKP volunteers brought a team of dragon dance to entertain them and passed out treats, lanterns, balloons, school supplies, backpacks and especially giving twelve (12) brand new bicycles to the students who have special circumstances and facing financial hardship. Pink Straws also donated an English Mobile Library to the school.
$1,700 were donated to the rice distribution delivery cost project to bring food to the kids in the highlands and the remaining $1,000 were used to provide monetary support to 6 cancer patients in October 2019.

 

10. Kandy Kim and her niece, Violette Truong had donated $7,726 to rebuild a broken bridge in Binh Que, Thang Binh, Viet Nam. The former bridge had major damage and had caused a few fatal accidents. The new bridge has helped with transportation for over 10,000 people at this village. The villagers are so excited and so thankful for this bridge. It has been a long dream for them to have this new bridge. It will not only help to improve the business for the village but more importantly, it will save lives❤️

 

11. Tam Ky Project had collaborated with Smile of Compassion Projects Nam CT Nguyen & provided free eyes surgeries to 375 patients in July 2019. We had over 1000 patients came for screening and the doctors were able to do surgeries for only 375 patients who were blind from cataracts and other diseases. Some were only able to see light or darkness and now, they got their vision back. They were so excited and very thankful to have their vision back. Some elders even dropped on their knees and bowed to the volunteers to express their gratitude. TKP raised $5,000 to fund this project.

12. In November 2019, TKP also did a mud run and raised $4,130 and funded eyes surgeries for an additiontal 110 patients from the rural highlands in Quang Nam.

 

13. TKP has been providing monthly scholarship to orphans or children with special circumstances for $30 a month so they can continue their education. We were able to sponsor 15 orphans in 2019 (Total cost $5,000). Thank you so much to Bi Le Sonny Son Kim Nguyen and their twins daughters (Shelby & Crystal who’ve just graduated as PharmaD) for sponsoring 4 orphans in the last 3 years.

 

On a regular basis, we visit and cook a hot meal for local orphanages, rehab center for children with disabilities, a senior center, and local hospitals.

 

We also help many lone cases involving sudden accidents/deaths, sickness, people in trauma center and can’t afford to have surgeries, etc. We help the elderly or disabled people who live alone and have no family to help , orphans/kids with special circumstances, and many more.

 

Tam Ky Project in California had also done many local projects here in Orange County. We baked and cooked dinner for families who have kids going through cancer treatments, Shoebox project to deliver gifts to over 200 kids around the world and volunteering at local food banks. On Feb 2019, TKP volunteers flew to Paradise to help the fire victims. We raised $7,000 and helped over 300 families in need there with money and food especially for many who were living in their cars. Details of this relief effort can be found on our Facebook page.
